1. Purpose

The purpose of this AUP is to protect the Company, our customers, and the broader internet community, and to ensure the Services are used lawfully, ethically, and securely. This Policy is not exhaustive; conduct that is unlawful or that threatens the security, integrity, reputation, or operation of the Services may be addressed even if not specifically listed below.

2. Prohibited activities

You must not use the Services to, and must not permit any third party to:

  • violate any applicable law, regulation, sanctions program, or order, or facilitate any unlawful activity;
  • infringe, misappropriate, or violate the intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person;
  • develop, host, store, transmit, or distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious code, or material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that exploits or endangers minors;
  • send unsolicited bulk or commercial messages (spam) or engage in phishing, credential harvesting, or other deceptive practices;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Software except as expressly permitted by its license, or remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices;
  • misrepresent the security properties, certification status, performance, or origin of the Software or the Services; or
  • use the Services to operate an unauthorized identity, credential, or authentication service that facilitates fraud or impersonation.

3. System and network security

You must not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any Company system or network, or breach any security or authentication measure, except as expressly authorized under our Security Policy and responsible-disclosure program. You must not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services, gain unauthorized access to any system or data, circumvent rate limits or access controls, or take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, including denial-of-service activity.

4. Responsibility for End Users

If you operate a Self-Hosted Deployment, you are responsible for ensuring that your End Users and administrators comply with all applicable laws and with terms no less protective than this AUP. You are responsible for promptly addressing prohibited conduct of which you become aware within your environment.

5. High-risk and restricted uses

The Services are general-purpose software and are not designed or intended for use in environments where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or severe physical or environmental damage, such as the operation of life-support systems, aircraft navigation, or nuclear facilities. You assume all risk and liability for any such use. You are responsible for determining whether the Services are appropriate for any regulated workload and for implementing any additional controls that such use requires.

6. Enforcement and suspension

We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP and may remove or disable access to offending material or accounts. Where a violation poses a risk to the security or integrity of the Services or to others, threatens legal liability, or is required by law, we may suspend or terminate access immediately and without prior notice. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice and an opportunity to cure where the circumstances permit.

7. Reporting violations

To report a suspected violation of this AUP, or abuse originating from the Services, contact us at abuse@authforge.dev. To report a security vulnerability, please follow our Security Policy instead.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
